How to Change Voices

Find the perfect voice for your listening experience, from expressive storytellers to different accents and languages. Switching voices only takes a few taps!

  • Open any file or book in the app

  • On the listening screen, tap the voice icon in the bottom-left corner of the player

  • This will open the Voice Library

  • Browse available voices by:

    • Featured

    • New

    • Best Storytellers

    • Language/accent

    • Favorites

    • Celebrity

  • Preview a Voice, tap on any voice to:

    • Hear a sample preview

    • View the voice description

    • See ratings and categories

    • Language/accent

    • Favorites

  • Select a Voice, Once you find a voice you like:

    • Tap the voice profile

    • Select “Select Voice”

    • Playback will instantly switch to the new voice

Note: Speechify can read text in different languages and accents. For example, selecting an Italian voice for English text will read the content in English with an Italian accent. For the best experience, we recommend matching the voice language to the language of the text.
