Listen to any text from your physical book
To scan a physical book, you can simply take photos of one or more pages and upload them into a single listening document. This is a perfect option to listen to a book or a long printed document.
Supported by proper lighting, open the app and tap the ➕ icon in the bottom center of the screen,
On the Create section, select Scan Text,
Point your phone's camera at the page of text you wish to scan. Please ensure to have all the text of the page in the frame. You may also choose to disable the highlighted frame feature by clicking the pointed icon below,
To scan the pages, tap the white circular button in the bottom center, and then tap Next.
Following that, you will have the options to add pages, skew, crop, add columns, or delete and rearrange your scanned document.
To crop the pages, tap the crop icon pointed in the navigation bar (you may also use the 'Skew' feature for unequal sides).
We strongly advise cropping each page as close to the text as possible in order to have the text render properly. Then, tap Save.
To determine the text columns, hit the Column icon and adjust the margins accordingly.
To rearrange the page order, select the Thumbnail option, tap and hold your finger on the page you wish to move, then drag it to the desired position.
To access further options, such as renaming the document, retaking the scan, and deleting pages, hit the Kebab (3 dots) icon in the bottom right corner of the screen (see screenshot below):
Finally, tap Save & Listen to save the pages as one scanned document in your Speechify library
