To access the Mac app settings:

  • Click the Speechify icon from the Launchpad

  • Or, click the Speechify icon from the Toolbar

  • It will then open to this.

  • Click the Settings or the gear ⚙️ icon.

  • From here, you should be able to choose the following:

    • Account

    • General

    • Shortcuts

Account

  • Access and manage your account settings, review legal policies, connect with support, view tutorials, log out, or quit the app.

General

  • Customize how the app behaves at startup and in the menu bar. Choose whether to launch the app and open your library automatically, and set your preferred playback speed for the main component in the menu bar.

Shortcuts

  • Use simple keyboard shortcuts to control playback, adjust speed, capture screens, and skip sentences—right from any app. Just highlight text and press your chosen key combo (like ⌥ + A to start or stop). You can customize shortcuts, restore them to default, or disable them in specific apps if needed.
